The activity began with a brief overview of the Museum provided by a knowledgeable tour guide. Following the introduction, Ambassadors participated in a scavenger hunt designed to explore the campus and answer 8-10 questions. These questions covered topics such as rock formations, the history of the plant, museum collections, and more. The scavenger hunt encouraged exploration and critical thinking while fostering teamwork among participants.
After completing the scavenger hunt, the groups reconvened to review their answers and engage in a broader discussion. The activity concluded with a guided showcase of the Museum’s fascinating collections, including rocks, fossils, animal bones, and other artifacts.
On the day of the event, my role included:
- Providing instructions and guidance to Ambassadors throughout the activity.
- Sharing housekeeping notes and guidelines to ensure a smooth experience.
- Taking attendance and tracking absences to maintain accurate records.
- Following up with Ambassadors as needed to address participation and any concerns.
I enhanced my organizational and leadership skills by managing event logistics, providing clear instructions, and ensuring effective communication with participants. The experience also deepened my appreciation for natural history and the museum's collections.
This experience relates to my interests in event coordination, education, and team management. It also connects to my professional development in roles that involve guiding groups and fostering collaborative learning environments.
